Veteran actress and the mother of Daniel Padilla, Karla Estrada reveals the main reasons behind his son’s choice of President, as the popular actor keeps on supporting Mar Roxas even accompanying the former Interior Secretary in his provincial sorties.
Despite the flak the mother and son received on social media because of their support to the Liberal Party standard-bearer, Karla Estrada revealed on her interview with Pep.ph, that she had expected her son to be bashed since the election season is ongoing.
According to Karla Estrada, she doesn’t regret in pushing Daniel Padilla to sign up as Mar Roxas’ endorser because the actress believes the man who was also chosen by President Aquino as his successor is a credible man and worthy to become President.
Karla Estrada was quoted as saying “Wala akong puwedeng sabihin kundi yung paninindigan, na paniniwala, ‘Anak, kanino tayo?’ Sabi ko, ‘Hindi tayo mapapahiya. Wala tayong dapat na pagsisihan kasi kahit saan mo silipin at basahin, walang track record ng pagnanakaw,’” she said.
The actress added further that she is proud of her decision to support Mar Roxas because the former Interior Secretary has not been tainted by allegations of corruptions.
Daniel Padilla and his on-screen partner, Kathryn Bernardo were two of the most notable stars included in the bandwagon of Mar Roxas, they were even seen active on the campaign trail and provincial sorties of the presidential candidate.
There are rumors circulating online that Daniel Padilla that he was paid an eight-figure sum just to endorse Mar Roxas, but all the allegations has not yet been verified. Aside from Mar Roxas who got so many celebrities under his name, the other presidential candidates who was supported by celebrities is no other than Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
The only difference with Mayor Duterte’s celebrity endorsers such as Robin Padilla, Mocha Girls, Parokya ni Edgar’s Vocalist Chito Miranda to name a few, they support Duterte because they want change and not because of monetary gains.
