VP Binay Promised to Get Rid of BIR Commissioner Kim Henares Once Elected

Vice President Jejomar Binay, considered now as the leading presidential candidates based upon the latest SWS survey promised during a meeting with some Chinese Filipino businessmen that he would install a new Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) commissioner once he is elected as President of the Republic of the Philippines.

During a meting at a convention of Chinese Filipino Business Club, VP Binay said that once elected he wil sack Commissioner Henares out of BIR. The former Makati City Mayor was quoted as saying After taking my oath as President, in 30 minutes, you’ll have a new BIR commissioner,” Binay said, rousing laughter and short applause from the audience.

Aside from sacking BIR commissioner Kim Henares from office, he also introduced UNA President Toby Tiangco as the next Speaker of the House of Representatives.

The Vice President also reiterated his campaign promise to scrap the income tax for those earning P30,000 and below per month, and plug in the revenue hole by cracking down smuggling in the Philippines.

VP Binay also added his promise to lower the 30 percent corporate income tax, which earned him applause from the audience of Filipino-Chinese businessmen.
