The decision of the First and Second Divisions disqualifying presidential aspirant Sen. Grace Poe is now final as the Comelec in full session voted to uphold the rulings. The decision of the Comelec was revealed by a reliable sources to Philippine Star.
According to sources, the voting was at 5-2 denying the motion for reconsideration that Sen. Grace Poe filed on the ruling of the First Division. The official results of the voting are expected to be released today, December 23, 2015.
The Comelec Second Division earlier voted 5-1-1 in favor of Sen. Grace Poe’s disqualification to run for President, with one commissioner dissenting and another inhibiting.
Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon yesterday said the poll body had finished voting on Poe’s motions for reconsideration. The vote still has to be promulgated.
Disqualified candidate Sen. Grace Poe, said that she will appeal the Comelec decision before the Supreme Court of the Philippines. Sen. Grace Poe’s spokesman Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian maintained that the senator is a natural-born Filipino, eligible to run for the highest post of the land. He also maintained Sen. Poe has met the 10-year residency requirement.
