The President of the People’s Republic of China, President Xi Jinping is set to make a historic visit to the Philippines from November 17-19, 2015 for the highly anticipated gatherings of world leaders in the APEC Summit 2015 hosted by the country.
The visit of the Chinese president to the Philippines was confirmed by the Chinese Foreign Ministry through their announcement on Monday, November 9, 2015.
At the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting in the Philippines, is considered as one of the world’s most popular gatherings of world leaders for the year 2015. The Chinese President will join the APEC Summit together with the United States President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Chinese Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang released the following statement to the media:
“At the invitation of President Benigno Simeon Aquino III of the Republic of the Philippines, President Xi Jinping will attend the 23rd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Manila, the Philippines, from November 17 to 19,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang stated.
Before the visit of the Chinese President to the Philippines, Pres. Xi Jinping will attend the 10th G20 Summit in Antalya, Turkey from November 14 to 16, at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Turkey.”
