The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has suspended the number coding scheme starting Friday, October 30, 2015 until November 1, 2015 in time for the observance of All Saints Day. The announcement of the MMDA was only for Friday’s suspension of number coding scheme because Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 falls on weekend which means there’s no number coding.
Most people from the provinces took time to celebrate the UNDAS with their families, causing Metro Manila easing its traffic problems during the UNDAS holidays.
According to a statement released on Wednesday by Emerson Carlos, MMDA Officer-in-Charge, the lifting of the number coding scheme in Metro Manila for both public and private vehicles was done to allow people in Metro Manila more mobility.
The suspension of Number Coding in Metro Manila will be until November 1, as the MMDA said that the resumption of the implementation of the scheme would be on Monday, November 2, 2015, a regular working day.
Although the number coding scheme will be suspended in Metro Manila, the provincial buses would be exemptedfrom the number coding scheme on that day (Nov. 2) to allow travelers to get back to Metro Manila.
