Pushing for inquiry on Vice President Jejomar Binay’s issue, the camp said the Senate could be gunning for the Guinness record for having the longest inquiry on a particular concern.
Binay’s political affairs spokesman Rico Quicho said ten months and 21 hearings is long enough calling the aid of legislation as an aid of political demolition.
“At ten months and 21 hearings, the Senate is indeed gunning for a Guinness record of having the longest inquiry in the world not in aid of legislation but in aid of political demolition.” Quicho said.
The probe on corruption allegations against the VP will resume tomorrow pushed by a special panel under the Senate Blue Ribbon committee.
Binay’s camp expect the senate to “rehash the baseless and false statements made during the hearings by perjured witnesses” as it promised a partial report.
Former Makati Vice Mayor Ernesto Mercado will continue to push for the details of Binay’s alleged corruptions.
Quicho meanwhile added that the public should know that the hearings are being used to pull down Binay’s prospects in the 2016 elections.
