Senator Cynthia Villar, the former congresswoman-turned-senator emerged once again as the richest senator in the Philippines, based on her official Statement of Assets and Liabilities for the year 2014 submitted by the Senator to the Senate Secretariat in accordance with the Philippine constiution’s mandate that each public officials will make their SALN available every year to the public.

The wife of former Presidential candidate and former richest senator in the country, Manny Villar, has almost P2 billion in assets and no liabilities. Senator Cynthia Villar followed the footsteps of her husband as the country’s richest legistator.

Based upon the SALN of Sen. Cynthia Villar for the year 2014, shows a net worth of P1,983,480,135. The recognition of Cynthia Villar as the richest senator whom she was recognized since she was elected way back the year 2013.

Sen. Villar’s assets consist of six residential properties, as well as investments in shares of stocks and other real and personal properties. Aside from Sen. Cynthia Villar, the other notable names on the SALN ranking is Senator Ralph Recto whose net worth was at P522, 006,655.21.

The Senator’s SALN for the year 2014 also revealed that the poorest senator in the elite list of legistators is no other than Sen. Antonio Trilanes IV, who registered with the lowest net worth of P5.5 million.
