Sen. Grace Poe has a good chance of beating Vice-President Jejomar Binay in the 2016 presidential elections if she decides to run as president.

Political analyst Ramon Casiple believes Poe is already a sure win for the vice-presidency.

In an interview with ABS-CBN’s Umagang Kay Ganda, Casiple said: “She is the candidate to beat, more than one third want her,”

More than this, the analyst also believes that the senator has a good chance of beating Binay.

The vice-president has long declared his intention to run for presidency.

The senator confirmed that President Aquino met with her before his recent trip to discuss the 2016 elections, however, she cleared that the president did not ask her to run for any particular position.

Poe said the President only told her that the Liberal Party (LP) needs and alternative to the opposition candidate.

In the earlier meeting, Poe also asked the President if he would be open to support a candidate like her who is not a member of the LP.

Meanwhile, an official of the LP also believes that Sen. Poe should run for vice-president.

However, Caloocan Rep. and LP vice chair for political affairs Edgar Erice said Mar Roxas is more prepared for the presidency.

Poe said she may decide whether to run or not by June.
