The lawsuits seek compensation udner laws meant to protect consumers and ask for status as class actions on behalf of ticker buyers, pay-per-view wievers and for those who gables on the “Fight of the Century”.

However, Daniel Petrocellin, an attorney for Pacquiao and Top Rank Inc., believes that the lawsuits filed against the boxer are wrong.

“The lawsuits are factually wrong and legally wrong, and we expect they will be dismissed in due course,” Petrocelli said in a statement on Wednesday.

Bob Arum, shortly after the loss of Pacquaio on unanimous decision against Floyd Mayweather, said the boxer had been hampered by an ‘old’ injury to his right shoulder.

The lawsuits came as neither of Pacquiao nor his team appeared to have informed the Nevada Athletic Commission about the shoulder issue until a couple of hours before the start of the fight when they asked for an anti-inflammatory injection.

Law experts meanwhile, say the lawsuit won’t prosper.

“Pwede silang magdemanda pero sabi ko nga, hindi sila pwedeng manalo,” Atty. Howard Calleja said in an interview on DZMM.
