Veteran star Karla Estrada wins Week Eight of the top-rating show “Your Face Sounds Familiar” during an announcement held on Sunday night. The singer-actress took the weekly prize for the second time and brought home half of the P100,000 cash prize she won with the remaining half donated to her chosen charity Golden Acres.
The mother of Daniel Padilla, Karla Estrada performed her own rendition of the song “Alone,” which was popularized by Ann Wilson of American rock band Heart, earned positive feedback for her powerful voice.
Daniel Padilla, who is considered as the country’s Teen King was also one of the studio audience who supported his mother during her performance. Karla Estrada is one of the few contestant that already won twice in the top-rating singing competition in the Philippines.
Your Face judge, Jed Madela told Karla Estrada that vocal-wise, he couldn’t say anthing. He was quoted as saying “Vocal-wise, wala na akong masasabi. You are one of the best, most powerful voices I’ve ever heard. This performance tonight, hindi lang ang family mo ang proud sa ‘yo ngayon, lahat ng nandito ngayon, lahat ng nanonood, very proud of this performance. Saludo ako sa performance na ‘to,” Jed Madela told Estrada.
Sharon Cuneta on her part liked Karla Estrada’s performance and revealed to the audience taht she haven’t seen Ann Wilson perform live on her entire life. The mega-star stated that “Looking at her, and hearing your voice, I liked my Karla much better. She did a better Ann Wilson, I think, I’m sorry, than Ann Wilson,” Cuneta added.
Gary Estrada was also quoted as saying “Kanina, nung nagpe-perform ka, nakanganga lang ako, kasi parang, wow, ang ganda ng pagka-perform mo, ang ganda mo, ang ganda ng personality mo. For me, that makes all close to a perfect performance,” Gary Valenciano said.
