Video: Foreign Worker Rescues Toddler Stuck Between Railings

SINGAPORE – A foreign worker became an instant hero after saving a toddler whose head was stuck between the rails of drying rack outside the service yard as he climbed to the second floor of a Housing Board Block at Jurong East Street 32.

The unsafe position of the toddler shouting for help caught the attention of the foreign worker who was working on road repairs near the area.

The foreign worker then responded to save the toddler. In the video provided, the worker was seen pulling himself up effortlessly onto the edge and holding the crying toddler up while trying to get her back into the other side of the ledge.

According to a blog posted by Alvin Lim, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) arrived five minutes later and helped to free the child.

SCDF meanwhile is trying to locate and identify the foreign worker so they could give him an award, said an SCDF spokesman.
