During the Game 1 of the PBA Finals best-of-seven championship series featuring the top two teams in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup, the Talk ‘N Text and the Rain or Shine, the Tropang Texters prevailed as they dominated the Elasto Painters with the final score at 99-92 and took an early 1-0 lead.
Gilas Pilipinas mainstay Ranidel De Ocampo led the Tropang Texters by pouring out an impressive offensive markers with 24 points while their import Ivan Johnson added with 23 points.
During the game there was an intense situation inside the court as Talk ‘N Text import Ivan Johnson was fined by the league the amount of P150,000 for bumping into Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao.
