The photos shared by the Italian astronaut has generated thousands of retweets and reactions and comments from netizens online with some who drew comparison with between Typhoon Chedeng and the most powerful typhoon, Super Typhoon Yolanda or Haiyan.

Internationally named as “Typhoon Maysak”, Chedeng is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday evening, April 1, 2015 and will directly hit provinces of Luzon and other counterparts of the Philippines.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) still categorized Maysak as a typhoon but Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) from Hawaii already categorize Maysak as a ”super typhoon”.

According to the Hawaii-based state weather agency, Typhoon Maysak will hit its peak strength at 277.8 kilometers per hour or approximately 150 knots at around 8 p.m. today.

Meanwhile, the national government are now gearing up with their preparation for the typhoon which will hit the country on the midst of the Lenten Season. On the other hand, many police officers are also now deployed on various bus terminals, airports and public places to secure peace and order.
