The country’s weather bureau, PAGASA, noted that Bagyong Amang has maintained ints strength as it moves westward towards Eastern Visayas. PAGASA stated on their 5:00 AM weather bulletin that the weather disturbance may hit Northern Samar on Saturday afternoon.
As of 4:00 AM on Friday morning, Bagyong Amang was spooted 575 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar. It has maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.
PAGASA already raised the Public Storm Warning Signal No. 1 in the provinces of Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate. Signal No. 1 was also raised in Burias Island, Ticao Island, Camarines Sur, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran and Leyte.
The country’s weather bureau also advised the public that in the next 6 hours, there is a possibility of raising the Public Storm Warning Signal No. 1 over Camarines Norte, Marinduque and Romblon.
Bagyong Amang is expected to be at 140 km east-northeast of Borongan City on Saturday morning, in the vicinity of Daet, Camarines Norte on Sunday morning, and 30 km north of Dagupan City, Pangasinan on Monday morning.
