Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin Reach P300 Million in Box Office Income

The MMFF-entry movie, “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” already reach the P300-million mark at the box office according to the announcement made by Vice Ganda on his official Twitter account on Friday, January 2, 2014. The movie is on its way to outperform the previous Vice Ganda movie, “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy.”

Vice Ganda is considered as one of the box-office comedian in the country today, with his previous movie, earned the recognition as the highest-grossing Philippine film of all time.

In a separate report posted by Yahoo Philippines, Dominic Du of the MMFF executive committee was quoted as saying that the annual film festival has already earned more than P701 million s of January 1, 2015.

This year’s MMFF entry movies already surpassed the box office receipts of last year’s MMFF by around five percent. The MMFF executive committee also added that the movie “English Only, Please,” surpassed the movie “Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2” and took the last spot of this year’s Top Four Entries.

The movie English Only, Please which featured Derek Ramsay and Jennylyn Mercado won Best Director, 2nd Best Picture, Best Screenplay, Best Original Story, Best Editor and top acting honors for the lead stars during the awards ceremony held on December 27.

The other top grossing entries, as announced by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairman Francis Tolentino back on December 26, are “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin,” My Big Bossings,” and “Feng Shui 2”.
