The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) released the latest MMFF 2014 box office results during the opening day on December 25, 2014. According to the official tally of the MMDA, the movie featuring Vice Ganda “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” is currently leading the list of eight official entries in terms of box office income.

MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino, the overseer of the country’s most popular Film Festival, the Metro Manila Film Festival noted that they are expecting a 10% increase in ticket sales this year based on the turnout of viewers who went to theaters on Thursday, December 25, 2014.
Based upon the opening box office results of the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival, the total box office income of the MMFF was recorded at P128 million.
Although the official figures was not released by the MMDA as of press time, they noted that as of 3:00 PM today, the movie “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” is lording the box office as of Thursday afternoon.
Coming in second and third place in a neck to neck battle for the box office income results are the movies “Feng Shui 2” and “My Big Bossing’s Adventure,” while in No. 4 spot is the movie “Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles,”
Aside from the Top Four Movies of the 2014 MMFF, other films which are being shown in various theaters nationwide are “Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo,” “English Only, Please,” “Magnum Muslim .357,” and “Shake, Rattle and Roll XV.”
According to the MMDA Chairman the official figures of the 2014 MMFF Box Office Results on Opening Day, it will be posted on their official social media account on Thursday night.
The 2014 MMFF Awards Night will take place this coming December 27, 2014 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
