GlobalPort’s prized rookie Anthony Semerad and KIA’s Richard Alonzo engaged in a fist fight during a PBA Game between the two teams during the PBA Philippine Cup held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. The fist fight started when Richard Alonzo pushed NCAA standout Anthony Semerad while the rookie was retrieving a loose ball in the first quarter of the GlobalPort vs. KIA match up.

The pushing incident occurred inside the shaded area, the push sent Semerad out of the shaded area as Alonzo secured the position. Anthony Semerad quickly rushed at Alonzo but the Kia player stuck out an elbow, the contact then sent both of them to the ground where they exchanged elbows and kicks.
The PBA referee immediately came in to break up the fight between Semerad and Alonzo who calmed down when the officials responded. Both the Kia Sorento and the GlobalPort Batang Pier are trying to improve from 1-2 record to avoid getting cut after the 11-game elimination round.
The game ended with the final score at 84-79 in favor of the Batang Pier, putting GlobalPOrt in the .500 mark or at 2-2- win-loss slate and boosted the confidence of coach Pido Jarencio’s wards.
GlobalPort secured their victory without the service of their star guard Alex Cabagnot who was suffering from a throat ailment during the game. Ronjay Buenafe filled Cabagnot’s void by pouring out 19 points while top rookie Stanley Pringle added with 13 points.
Anthony Semerad on his part scored with 12 points while Mark Isip added with 10 points for Batang Pier victory. Kia Sorento’s big man Hans Thiele led his team with 19 points and eight (8) rebounds while Reil Cervantes added with 15 points and Alvin Padilla scored with 11 points, the team is now down in tea standing with 1-3 win-loss card.
