A few minutes from now the winless Gilas Pilipinas squad will be facing one of the toughest team in the world, the No. 3 FIBA ranked team, Argentina on their third FIBA World Cup 2014 outing. We will be having our very own live coverage, scores, results and highlights of the Gilas Pilipinas vs. Argentina game which will start at around 11:30 PM, September 1, 2014.
Here’s our Live Coverage of the Gilas vs. Argentina Game:
The Philippine men’s basketball team will test one of the best teams not only in America but also in the world. The team is bannered by Indiana Pacers superstar Luis Scola, who averaged a total of 25 points and 9 rebounds a game in two FIBA performances so far this year.
Although the Gilas Pilipinas will be playing without the legendary Argentine basketball star Manu Ginobili of the San Antonio Spurs, younger international Argentine players are stepping up for their team.
Aside from NBA veteran Luis Scola, another Argentinian superstar basketball player, Pablo Prigioni supported Scola’s scoring for Argentina as he averaged a total of 7.5 assists a game. Andres Nocioni also contributed for Argentina’s offensive weapons as he already contributed an average of 14.6 points per game.
Argentina was defeated earlier by Croatia 85-90, which is a good sign that if Andray Blatche could provide the much needed offensive prowess for Gilas, they will have a chance to beat Argentina.
