In some wet market is Metro Manila, prices of premium rice had risen fro P1 to P2 per kilo Monday, August 11, 2014.
A week ago, prices of rice is just P42 and now it turned out to be P44 per kilo. While others which are sold P43 last week is now sold at P45 per kilo.
Indeed, this said prizes that gone up. One of the consumer was asked if she will just buy National Food Authority (NFA) rice to save money. But then she said that she don’t want to.
The said increase in the prizes of rice is only for the high-end commercial rice. Others are not affected. It simply means that the supply on NFA rice is really abundant and people can just buy it in a cheaper cost. It can only be bought for P27 to P32 per kilo.
Because of the said increase in the prize of rice, there are already around 80 – 90 percent of the consumer have chosen to buy NFA rice than commercial rice.
But then, people should not worry much about this price increase in rice because it is just temporary. From the time of harvest season which is September, it will probably be back to it’s original price.
For eggs price, it also had risen up for about P1 per piece. However, even if prices had gone up, people still chose to buy eggs.
The said price increase was due to the effect of typhoons in the country.
But then, people doesn’t have to worry much regarding this matter. The government is already doing some effective remedies for this. Sooner or later, it will actually end. It is just temporary.
