A certain street kid, only identified with his first name Gerald, became one of the viral sensation online after he showcased his mathematics skills in a video originally posted by Chelsea Mae S. Luzanta on Facebook. The viral video was first posted online last July 25, 2014 by the University of Sto. Tomas student on her official Facebook account.
The video have gone viral on Facebook already since the day it was posted, the “street kid math genius” video have already garnered more than 17,000 shares on Facebook alone. The video was also re-posted on YouTube, by some individual who linked back and credited the original uploader of the said viral video.
According to various comments posted on the original video posted by the UST student, the whiz kid can be found around Dapitan in Metro Manila which is also near the University of Sto. Tomas campus.
Based upon the viral video, Gerald now also know as the “math genius” answered all the mathematical problems given by the UST students without using any tools, particularly the questions of giving the square root of a certain number. Gerald also explained and distinguished the perfect squares from not and even knew what imaginary numbers are.
According to some netizens comment, they hope that somebody could help Gerald honed his skills in mathematics. Some netizens even called the attentions of various institutions and government entities to help Gerald got a scholarship from those schools who are interested with this rare find.
