International celebrity Lil Wayne is set to expand his ever-growing empire and money machine as he embarks to the sports world, with his announcement of a new sports agency. His own sports management company will feature Portugal and Real Madrid superstar football player Cristiano Ronaldo as his first client.
According to a news report posted by TMZ, the 31-year-old Lil Wayne will star up his own sports management company. The entertainment site noted that Lily Wayne will be working with PolarisSports, which is affiliated with the CAA agency and GestiFute, through which Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes operates.
TMZ added further that the Lil Wayne’s company will handle Cristiano Ronaldo’s sports management affairs in the United States which will include his branding to marketing and to endorsements deals which could include modeling stint for the international soccer superstar.
Although Cristiano Ronaldo’s camp did not issue an official statement with Lil Wayne’s alleged involvement with his career, the Portugal forward tweeted earlier a picture of himself and dozens of others holding up the Young Money/Cash Money sign. The popular Young Money Entertainment is an American record label founded by rapper Lil Wayne.
Last December 2013, Forbes reported that Cash Money Records had filed a trademarks application for “Visionaire Sports Group,” while the recording company of Lil Wayne, the Young Money Entertainment was also looking to enter the athlete representation business in 2014.
Lil Wayne is on its way to follow the footsteps of Jay Z who venture into the world of sports, last 2013 Jay Z teamed up with CAA to launch Roc Nation Sports, the home of Kevin Durant, CC Sabathia, Skylar Diggins and Victor Cruz.
