The controversial Cebu Priest identified as Fr. Romeo Obach issued his “public heartfelt apology,” on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 after the video of himself humiliating an unwed mom during a Baptism ceremony in Mandaue City in Cebu.

The priest apologized for his actions after netizens bombarded him with negative comments on Facebook as the video went viral online. Father Romeo Obach acknowledged on his public apology which was also posted in the Facebook Page of GMA Cebu.
Fr. Obach admitted his mistake and issued the apology to the 17-year-old unwed mother and her immediate family members for his words and “rude attitude,” before performing the rite of baptism.
The priest was quoted as saying “The words I said and the rude attitude that I showed before I performed the rite of Baptism last Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the Sacred Heart Chapel, Jagobiao, Mandaue City, was indeed unbecoming. I deeply regret that I have done this,” he said in a statement.
According to the controversial priest, he realized later on how cruel his ways to “educate and impart lessons,” for the event. Aside from apologizing to the unwed mother and her immediate family, the priest also apologized to those who saw or heard his sermon through social media.
