Actress Boots Anson-Roa revealed in an interview on “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” on Friday, May 30, 2014 that she was allegedly attacked by a foreigner with a newspaper in the lobby of a condominium in Quezon City where she stays.
According to the 69-year-old veteran actress, the scuffle took place in the lobby of Andrea North Towers on May 22, 2014. The foreigner who was identified as Australian-Canadian Ross Hemingway attacked Boots Anson-Roa who was browsing the newspapers at the time.
“Maya maya, ito na, basta may bumalaga sa akin, hurling expletives at me,” she said. “Tapos tinanong niya ako, ‘Do you own that? Why are you reading other’s newspapers? Why don’t you subscribe to your own newspaper?” she narrated.
“Siguro nakita nga niya na nagbabasa ulit ako. So binalumbon niya ‘yung dyaryong hawak niya tapos hinmapas ako dito,” she added.
Boots Anson-Roa ignored the foreigner and have asked the security of the Andrea North Towers to make a report about her attack. The multi-awarded actress noted that she already filed a formal complaint against the Australian-Canadian citizen.
Boots Anson-Roa was able to file a complaint with he aid of his fiancée and lawyer King Rodrigo. The award-winning actress couldn’t help but laugh after she was accused by the foreigner of “newspaper thief.”
Boots Anson-Roa is busy preparing for her upcoming wedding with King Rodrigo as they are slated to tie the knot on June 44, 2014. She shared that she feels privileged and excited for her nuptial to have Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle to oversee their wedding ceremony.
