The San Mig Coffee Mixers defeated the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters in Game Four of the PBA PLDT Home TVolution Commissioner’s Cup Finals with the final score at 100-91 on Thursday night at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City, Metro Manila.

With the Coffee Mixers victory they won their third consecutive crown in the PBA and move closer into winning the league’s coveted Grand Slam which is considered as one of the most difficult task a PBA franchise could ever achieve.
San Mig’s victory over Talk ‘N Text is not that easy as the team suffered setbacks in the first quarter of the game as the Tropang Texters exploded with a 17-1 run at the start of Game Four of the best-of-five finals series.
The Coffee Mixers proved once and for all that they’re a team to beat in the PBA despite the fact that during the third quarter of their game against TNT, the Tropang Texters remained in control with 68-53 advantage. San Mig unleashed a 16-0 run through the leadership of rookie Ian Sangalang and took the lead at 69-68.
The Tropang Texters answered back with a back-to-back three pointers from veteran players and Gilas mainstays Jayson Castro and Jimmy Alapag and took the lead 74-69 at the end of the third quarter.
The Mixers got the lead back in the fourth quarter with their 17-4 run and took the lead for good at 93-89, with two minutes left in the fourth quarter. Former Gilas player Mark Barroca put the finishing touches of the game with his big shots to end the game and the Mixers got the Commissioner’s Cup title.
The Coffee Mixers also known as the Purefoods franchise won its 12 PBA title, it is also the fourth under Coach Tim Cone, who is now considered as the PBA’s winningest coach with 17 championship.
