Boracay Captured Guinnes World Record for the Longest Massage Chain

The world-renowned island of Boracay added another title on its growing list of recognition as Guinness World Record officials witness the “Longest Massage Chain” set by the island. The world record attempt was witnessed by hundreds of tourists, media, residents and local government offices and the Department of Health (DOH).

According to Tourism Officer Felix Delos Santos of Malay town, there are at least 1,600 masseuse participated in the world record attempt which occurred on Friday, May 16, 2014 at around 8:30 AM.

Mr. Felix Delos Santos added further that there are around 2,000 masseuse who wishes to participate but the organizers limit the participants to just 1,600 because of the lack of space at the front beach. The event was conducted from Station 1 up to Station 3 in the island of Boracay.

According to the DOH they will endorse the world record attempt to the Guinness Book of World Records as they await for their official declaration. Currently the world record holder of the longest massage chain is Thailand with a total of 1,223 participants.

The registration process for the Guinness attempt started from 6:00 AM, the event started at around 8:30 AM, some of the participants continued their massaging task even if they high tide slowly reached their area.
