Florencia Cornejo, the grandmother (lola) of controversial model Deniece Cornejo has finally broke her silence and issued a statement regarding the pressing controversy between her granddaughter and actor-host Vhong Navarro.
In an interview with TV5’s showbiz oriented talk show, “Showbiz Police” on Sunday, March 2, 2014, Lola Florencia has aired her side on the mauling incident involving her granddaughter Deniece Cornejo.
The 22-year-old Deniece Cornejo previously filed a case against Vhong Navarro as she claimed that the “It’s Showtime” host held an attempt on her last January 22, 2014 at Forbeswood Heights, Bonifacio Global City.
During her exclusive interview she revealed that her family has received criticisms from the public. Florencia Cornejo is the paternal grandmother of Deniece Cornejo.
According to Florencia Cornejo, her granddaughter Deniece Cornejo came from a descent family and she was in shocked after learning the controversial issue.
Lola Florencia further added that Deniece Cornejo’s biological father is working in a cruise ship for 16 years already and her mother is a plain housewife.
On the other hand, Rod Cornejo, former GMA-executive and the grandfather of Deniece Cornejo previously made a statement regarding the controversy in an interview with “Buzz ng Bayan” on February 3, 2014.
Rod Cornejo granted a media interview in defense of his “apo” Deniece Cornejo who became a hot topic recently.
Deniece Cornejo together with businessman Cedric Lee and his company are currently facing simultaneous charges including serious physical injury, grave threats, grave coercion, illegal arrest, blackmail and serious illegal detention.
