On Wednesday afternoon February 26, 2013, 38-year-old Sgt. Raffy Braga from Bukidnon who has been serving in the Philippine Army for almost 17 years, not only became loyal and truthful in his service but as well as to his fellow citizen as he returns a checks amounting to P350,000.
Regarding with his truthfulness, Sgt. Raffy Braga is detailed by the office of the Armys’s (–foul word(s) removed–)istant chief of staff for civil military operations, as he said on his statement, he is driving during that time when he noticed from an errand the two pieces of paper, with checks attached on them, flew across his vehicle.
Meanwhile the checks which he found was the two Land Bank of the Philippines checks, worth P182,702.73 and the other one cost around 165,506.06 which are both payable to the order of Manila Company.
Due to Sgt. Raffy Braga truthful act, Lt. Col. Noel Detoyato the spokes person of Army contacted a senior non-commissioned officer who also coordinated with the Landbank in order to identify the owner of the checks.
Lt. Col. Noel Detoyato said on his statement, “It was Landbank who informed the owner that the lost checks were found by a soldier of the Philippine Army, and they agreed for the owner to claim them at (Braga’s office).”
As Sgt. Raffy Braga impressed some people due to his honesty, the Philippine Army has commended Braga for exhibiting “honesty, and for exemplifying integrity and professionalism.”
