Sam Worthington, the lead actor of the top-grossing movie “Avatar” was reportedly arrested after punching a photographer as the couple were leaving Cubbyhole bar in Greenwhich Village, New York City.

The 37-year-old Sam Worthington was charged with (–foul word(s) removed–)ault and released on bail after a reported punching with a camera-wielding paparazzi. According to some reports, the actor have rushed to his girlfriend Lara Bingle’s defense when she was allegedly kicked in the shin by a paparazzi.
Sam Worthington was released on bail and has been set a court date for February 26, 2014, according to the New York Police Department (NYPD) as reported by entertainment site TMZ.com.
The photographer who was punched by Sam Worthington was identified as Sheng Li, he was arrested and booked for reckless endangerment, (–foul word(s) removed–)ault, and har(–foul word(s) removed–)ment.
During the punching incident, the actor Sam Worthington referred to model Lara Bingle as his wife, he was shouting at the photographer and said, “you kicked my wife.” he said.
In a separate report by MailOnline, they stated that Lara is not Sam Worthington’s wife, they reported “He would have been speaking figuratively. They are definitely not married, as far as I know.” MailOnline reported.
For the past few months there are reports that surfaced online that Sam Worthington and Lara Bingle were already married during a secret wedding ceremony in Western Australia earlier this year, they were also spotted wearing matching rings.
There is no official statement yet from both Lara Bingle and Sam Worthington’s representative as of press time. We will update this post as soon as details will be revealed to the public.
