One of the top-grossing movie of this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival, the movie “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy (GBBT) already breaches the P200-million mark in box office sales as of Monday, December 30, 2013.
The box office income of “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” featuring phenomenal comedian Vice Ganda who plays four characters in the movie was revealed by the 37-old-old comedian on his official Twitter account.
The confirmation of Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy’s income was made through Mico del Rosario, of Star Cinema, the co-producer of the movie with Viva Films. As of 1 PM on Monday, December 30, the movie reached P200 million in box office income.
The movie, “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” was also awarded with the second best picture award during the MMFF 2013 Awards night last Friday. It has consistently ranked among the top grossing movies in the 39th MMFF, along with another comedy flick, “My Little Bossings” and the horror movie “Pagpag.”
Aside from breaching the P200 million mark, the latest movie of Vice Ganda have also surp(–foul word(s) removed–)ed the record set by “Sisterakas” after 5 days of showing in theaters nationwide.
Meanwhile Vice Ganda issued the following statement:
“Punong puno ng pasasalamat ang puso ko para sa lahat ng nagbigay ng suporta sa ‘Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy.’ Ito ang pinakamalaking achievement ko ngayong taon na ito,” Vice Ganda said in a statement.
“‘Yung pinanood pa lang nila ang pelikula ko ay ipinagpapasalamat ko na pero ‘yung pinuri pa nila matapos nilang mapanuod ay higit kong ipinagpapasalamat.Maraming salamat sa Panginoon at sa Madlang People. Nawa’y ang ngiti at sayang idinulot ng pelikulang ito ang magsimula ng muli at tuloy tuloy na pagbangon ng mga Pilipino,” he added.
The movie “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” also garnered two major awards in the MMFF 2013 which includes Maricel Soriano as Best Actress, and the movie was awarded with the MMFF Gender-Sensitivity Award.
