Super typhoon Yolanda which happened to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility last November 8, brought a lot of destruction and damage in some of the vital infrastructures, and agriculture including the lost of powers in some cities and municipalities of Visayas.
In the said disaster, the city and municipalities in some part of Visayas that was struck by strong wind and storm, Network services such as Smart, Globe, Sun have already been restored by Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) and Digital Mobile Philippines Inc. (Digitel).
According to the report that was submitted to the National Telecommunications Commission, the companies, through its brand Sun Cellular (Sun), were now able to reestablish cellular service in 100 percent of all cities and municipalities, including Aklan, Antique, Biliran, Bohol, Capiz, Cebu, Eastern Samar, Guimaras, Iloilo, Leyte, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Northern Samar, Southern Leyte and Western Samar.
PLDT and Smart Technology Group head Roland G. Peña, acknowledged the key government agencies for helping them facilitate the repair of their facilities.
With this latest report, it will surely give light, hope and determination to go on especially for those victims who lost their love ones, who were frustrated, depressed and became helpless during that time.
Now that the power have been restored, it will truly bring joy for those who survived the calamity.
