The national football team of the Philippines saw a glimmer of hope for the title after the formerly undefeated Chinese Taipei squad was defeated by Pakistan with the final score at 1-nil last Sunday.

The finals game tonight will create several scenarios for the three-team international football games, a 1-0 win by the Azkals will give the title to the Chinese Taipei based on the head-to-head record.

Azkals win with at least a two goals lead will allow the Azkals to retain the Philippine Peace Cup. A draw or win for Pakistan will see the South Asians as the champions of the 2013 edition of the tournament.

The Philippine Azkals match-up against the Pakistani national football team is their first ever international friendly match. Most of the Pakistani players currently wearing the national color are from the KRL FC, the team faced by the Global FC last May in Cebu.

Philippines star striker Phil Younghusband is still in doubt if he will play for tonight’s game after missing the first game last Friday. Some of the Azkals players will not participate in the Pakistan vs. Philippines match because of food poisoning.
