Mr. and Mrs. Jason Pilaan, a resident of Benguet, who is the parents of the 1-year-old baby who was born with male female organ are seeking for financial support after they found out that their child has two sex organs and suffering from hydrocephalus.
After the baby was born, it was then circumcised, but Virga thought that her child is male but later on, they discovered that the baby is female.
According to the surgeon, Dr. Bayani Tecson, the baby has a congenital adrenal hyperplasia, which means that wherein one symptoms is ambiguous genitalia, a birth defect where genitals do not have the typical appearance of either a boy or a girl.
Most of these conditions involve excessive or deficient production of sex steroids and can alter development of primary or secondary sex characteristics in some affected infants, children, or adults.
The surgeon added that this rare condition is inborn and the baby do have an excessive adrenalin, and that’s the reason why the external genitalia of the girl became big and it formed as penis.
The baby may undergo surgery, but her parents prioritize seeking cure for hydrocephalus which the treatment will cost around P100, 000.
