Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo Topbilled “Magic Temple” Movie

Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo will star in the movie remake of the highly popular 1996 film “Magic Temple,” as confirmed by Star Cinema’s Malou Santos during an exclusive interview with Manila Bulletin released on Sunday, October 6, 2013.

According to Malou Santos the movie “Magic Temple” is just one of the movie planned by Star Cinema for 2014 as they have already revealed the big screen version of Darna which will feature Angel Locsin playing the Pinay superhero.

The remake of “Magic Temple,” which originally starred by Marc Solis, Anna Larrucea, Jason Salcedo, Junell Hernando and Carlo Aquino is one of the project by Star Cinema in collaboration with Reality Entertainment, one of the Philippines most advanced film outfit in terms of special effects.

Aside from featuring the 18-year-old Daniel Padilla and the 17-year-old Kathryn Bernardo in the movie remake of “Magic Temple,” Star Cinema also plans of doing a franchise of the movie. A total of five films will be made under the Magic Temple franchise, there will be “Magic City,” after the “Magic Temple” movie.

The ABS-CBN managing director Malou Santos also revealed that the first draft of the “Magic Temple” have already arrived. The highly-successful movie, Magic Temple was directed by Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes, the movie wins all of the 7 nominations including the Best Film during the 1996 Metro Manila Film Festival.

The previous Magic Temple movie had a sequel, “Magic Kingdom,” released on 1997 under Viva Films, directed by the same tandem Gallaga and Reyes. The movie “Magic Kingdom,” stars Jason Salcedo, Junell Hernando and Janus de Prado, the replacement of Marc Solis. Kapamilya actress Anne Curtis debuted for the movie.

The KathNiel Movie “Magic Temple,” will be release probably in the late quarter of 2014, a possible MMFF entry.
