Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin will play the role of Darna in a Star Cinemaa movie, the confirmation was made by Star Cinema’s managing director Malou Santos during a sit down interview with Manila Bulletin.
In an exclusive interview with the former Production (–foul word(s) removed–)istant (PA) Malou Santos titled, “Movie Maker,” she revealed that Angel Locsin will play the role of “Darna” in the latest movie presentation of Star Cinema.
The confirmation made by Malou Santos ended the speculations as to who will play, the most-coveted title role of the Pinay superhero, known throughout the history of comics-loving Pinoy and the rest of Filipinos who loved Mars Ravelo’s creation.
The 28-year-old Angel Locsin was also optimistic that she could get the role of Darna after she learned that ABS-CBN have already gain the rights to produce the movie or the TV series featuring the Pinoy superhero. Angel Locsin have already played the role of Darna on TV during the year 2005 while her rival actress Marian Rivera also portrayed the role of Darna in a 2009 series featured by GMA-7.
Malou Santos also stated that Star Cinema have already partnered with one of the best production outfit in the country, Reality, in the production of “Darna” the movie which will feature special effects different from the previous Darna movies.
