During an interview with Inquirer, the spokesperson of the Scrap Pork Netwok, Patricia Tan, stated that the main goal of Friday’s Million People March at Makati, was to spread the call for the abolition of the pork barrel.

The Makati Million People March, groups are allowed and welcome to bring banners and streamers, a contrast to the first one held in Luneta last August 26 wherein the organizers discouraged any sign or activity that can be misconstrued as political in nature.

Patricia Tan clarified however, that there would be “banner-free areas,” especially near the statue of Ninoy Aquino, located at the corner of Paseo de Roxas and Ayala Avenue. This area is where anti-pork protesters are expected to converge.

The Million People March Part 2 in Makati is organized by the Scrap Pork network, the group consists of the Million People March and EDSA Tayo organizers, Sanlakas, Bagong Alyansang Makabayan, and US Pinoys For Good Governance to name a few.
