Chinese Taipei Defeated Jordan 91-87 in FIBA Asia 2013 (Highlights Group A)

The Chinese Taipei defeated the Team Jordan during the first match of the Group A premiliminary round with a 91-87 victory at the Mall of Asia Arena on Thursday, August 1, 2013.

The game between the silver medalist of the 26th FIBA Asia, Jordan was a close match. During the end of first half, the Taiwanese were trailing by 10 points, 67-57 after Jordan made a run sparked by naturalized star Jimmy Baxter and veteran big man Wesam Al-Sous.

The Chinese Taipei national squad responded with an 8-0 run through the effort of Douglas Creighton, Lin-Chih-Chieh, and Chen Shih-Chieh and came close at 67-65, before the start of the fourth quarter. At the start of the fourth quarter, Chinese Taipei exploded with 14-3 run to grab an 81-72 lead.

Lin-Chih-Chieh led the Taiwanese with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 (–foul word(s) removed–)ists while naturalized center Quincy Davis scored with 18 points and 11 rebounds for Chinese Taipei.

The Jordanians who missed the service of regulars Daghles, Wright and Abbas, was led by Baxter, who finished with 30 points in his FIBA Asia debut. Both Jordan and Chinese Taipei is bracketed with the Philippines in Group A. Chinese Taipei will go up against Saudi Arabia on Saturday while Jordan will battle the Gilas Pilipinas national team.
