UAAP superstar cager, Jeric Teng led the University of Sto. Tomas Growling Tigers for their second straight victory in the UAAP Men’s basketball tournament by defeating Season 76 host, Adamson University with the final score at 67-62.
The game was held at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum wherein the Tigers made an impressive second victory after they crushed titled contender DLSU Archers during their opening game.
Jeric Teng score 13 of his 15 points after the halftime break to help the UST turn back the much taller and bigger Adamson Soaring Falcons. The UST found itself down by eight points, 34-26, after two quarters, with Adamson flexing its muscle in the paint courtesy of Ingrid Sewa, who had 13 points in the first half.
The UST made a comeback during the third quarter by limiting the Falcons to just seven points to take a 45-41 advantage. Jeric Teng made an impressive fourth quarter leadership and scored nine points in the period.
Kevin Ferrer scored with 15 points for UST while Karim Adbul scored with just six points. On Falcons part star sophomore Jericho Cruz led the Falcons with 14 points, Sewa added with 13 points but was scoreless in the second half.
The Adamson Falcons suffered their first loss in the tournament after winning its opening (–foul word(s) removed–)ignment last week against the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons.
