The Philippine boxing pride, Manny Pacquiao may never fight in the United States again according to Top Rank big boss Bob Arum. The top honcho of Top Rank, revealed that the possibility of Pacquiao fighting in the US could never be happen again.
Bob Arum was interviewed by Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times, he stated that the main reason why is it that Pacquiao will never fight in the US again is the hefty tax impositions in the United States which already became the biggest stumbling block for Manny Pacquiao.
The Top Rank promoter was quoted as saying that “By fighting outside the country, as he’s doing in this Rios fight, Manny doesn’t have to pay US taxes anymore – at a rate of 40 percent for a foreign athlete,” said Arum in the interview.
Manny Pacquiao will be fighting against Brandon Rios this coming November 23 in Macau, China. According to the LA Time report, in China, Arum managed to strike a deal which would allow Chinese consumers to view the Pacquiao-Rios bout on their smartphones.
The deal could do as many as $10 million to $20 million in sales and if the deal will work it will become a huge success not only for Top Rank Promotions but also for both Manny Pacquiao and Brandon Rios.
