Toronto Raptors rookie swingman Terrence Ross captured the NBA Slam Dunk Trophy as he win over defending champion Jeremy Evans of the Utah Jazz. The rookie made some homage to former slam dunk champion and Raptors’ superstar Vince Carter with a 360-degree dunk off the backboard.
Ross was away ahead of votes as he got 58% of the fan vote against the 42% of Evans, the former champion dunked over a painting of himself and completed a difficult alley-oop dunk in the final round but wasn’t enough to capture the crown.
Both Ross and Evans advanced to the finals after they were challenged by former champion Gerald Green of the Indiana Pacers, Knicks YouTube sensation James “Flight” White, Los Angeles Clippers guard Eric Bledsoe, and Denver Nuggets big man Kenneth Faried.
