The leading candidate in the recently held Pinoy MasterChef, JR Royol, was declared as the first-ever winner of the MasterChef Pinoy Edition Live Cook-off held at the SM Skydeom on Saturday, February 9, 2013.
JR Royol who also dubbed as “Rakistang Kusinero of Benguet,” garnered a score of 99 points and 97 points from celebrity judges Kris Aquino and Richard Gomez respectively.
The Pinoy MasterChef hosts, Judy Ann Santos, Chef Ferns, Chef Lau and Chef Jayps adjudged JR Royol as the ultimate winner of the first-ever Pinoy MasterChef Winner.
JR Royol brought him the P1 Million from Clara Oil, a kitchen showcase from Whirlpool, and a Diploma Program for Professional Culinary Arts scholarship. The second placer Carla Marcaida brought home, P500,000, and third placer Ivory Yat received P300,000 while the fourth placer Myra won a total of P200,000.
