Jason Castro was awarded the Best Player of the Conference for the Philippine Cup 2013 as he scored the most number of statistical points. The awarding ceremony was held at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.
Castro was able to defeat his compatriot and fellow Texters Ranidel de Ocampo, former Gilas player Solomon Mercado, rookie Calvin Abueva of Alaska and Arwind Santos of Petron Blaze.
The Talk ‘N Text star guard Castro nicknamed “The Blur” had a total of 1,146 statistical points, media votes player’s votes and votes from the PBA.
The 5-foot-10 guard posted averages of 15.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.7 (–foul word(s) removed–)ists from the elimination round through to the semifinals of this conference.
