With the sweeping win against Rain or Shine, the Tropang Texters became the first team in PBA history to win the first-ever All-Filipino Cup title three seasons in a row.
Former Ateneo Coach Norman Black who powered the Eagles to 5 straight championships in the UAAP got his newest record 11th PBA titles.
During the interview after Tropang Texters championship victory, Black was quoted as saying that “I’m really happy for my players, they worked so hard this year.” Coach Black stated.
Coach Norman Black dedicated his title to his boss, Manny V. Pangilinan whom he called the best boss in the world. With Black’s victory, he became the first coach in PBA history to win titles in four different decades.
