The Ateneo Blue Eagles made a remarkable win after they defeated the UST Growling Tigers for their Fifth consecutive title in the UAAP Men’s Basketball Tournament.
The Blue Eagles defeated the UST with the final score at 65-62 only three points lead by the Ateneo.
Turn-overs in the final possessions of the UST with only 7.7 seconds left in the fourth quarter enabled the Blue Eagles to win the championship against UST. Bautista made a bad p(–foul word(s) removed–) to Fortuna and a steal was made by Teongson of Ateneo.
Kiefer Ravena of the Ateneo Blue Eagles made a clutch basket in the dying seconds of the game as they lead by 5 points but it was responded with another three-pointer courtesy of Fortuna so the UST came closer with just three points.
The win of Ateneo made them the second team to made an astonishing performance with a a total of 5 straight wins and a title for Ateneo Coach Norman Black who followed the footsteps of Philippine icon coach, Bobby Dalupan.
