The Philippines Commission on Elections (COMELEC) barred a total of 15 parties in participating in the 2013 party list elections. Some of the party list were already incumbent in the party list system of the Philippines.
One of the incumbent party list that was included in the barred parties was the Kakusa Party. According to COMELEC Chairman Sixto Brillantes there are 12 existing party list groups barred and they have denied the applications of 3 new parties.
The Kakusa or Kapatiran Ng Mga Nakulong Na Walang Sala Inc., was the only party with a sitting representative in Congress. The group is represented by Ranulfo Canonigo, a congressmann who declared a net worth of P2,647,208.00.
For the 2013 elections Kakusa is nominating Jesusa A. Sespeñe, Romeo G. Jalosjos, Cipriano D. Robielos III, Jose Nelher D. Palma and Jose G. Pimentel.
