The Philippine Azkals held the Bahrainis in a scroreless draw for the first game of the Philippines’ Middle East Tour. It was a nice game for the Philippines as they added another inspirational victory although they were unable to defeat Bahrain.
The Philippine have earlier ended a 99-year title drought for the Philippines as they won their first-ever international victory in the Philippine Peace Cup.
The Philippines was then able to held their defensive stunt as they forced a scoreless draw against a higher-ranked team. The game which was held at the Al-Muharraq Club Stadium in Manama, Bahrain served as a vengeance for the Azkals’ previous lost against Bahrain Olympic team last 2011.
Although the Philippines was playing without the service of five of their most popular member namely James and Phil Younghusband, Angel Guirado, Stephan Schrock and goalkeeper Neil Etheridge the team held the more experienced Bahrain in a scoreless draw.
