Silicon Valley CEOs to Mentor Filipino Technopreneurs through PhilDev

Some of the Filipino-American CEO and entrepreneurs from Silicon Valley will be coming to the Philippines to help support and inspire the emerging technology entrepreneurs in the country.

The event will be hosted by the Philippine Development Foundation, one of the US-registered organization which has a vision of  promoting a globally-competitive technology products and services from the Philippines driven by innovative entrepreneurs focused on growth and job creation.

The forum which will have a theme “Harnessing Filipino Innovation and Entrepreneurship” will take place from October 5-8, 2012 at the Manila Peninsula in Makati City.

This year’s forum will be preceded by a three-day mentoring session on October 5-7, 2012 at the Radison Blu in Cebu City dubbed as “Hack2Hatch: From Hacker to Founder.”

The “Hack2Hatch: From Hacker to Founder,” program in Cebu is a weekend entrepreneurship camp and guided pitching session and one-on-one mentorship for local start-ups.

Some of the most prominent personalities who will personally come to the Philippines for the said event were; New York CEO and philanthropist Loida Nicolas Lewis, PhilDev Chairman and Tallwood Managing Partner Dado Banatao, Winston Damarillo chairman and co-founder of Exist Global Inc., Sheila Lirio Marcelo, founder and CEO of Care.com to name a few.

According to Dado Banatao, one of the world’s most popular venture capitalist from Silicon Valley and was often dubbed as the “Bill Gates of the Philippines,” he stated that “The time has come for all to discover, highlight and harness the talent of the Filipino,” Banatao said.
