Porsche is considered as one of the most popular automobile especially in the luxury segment vehicles. The newly-released Porsche 911 series won accolades all around the world.
It was even awarded with the Motor Authority’s 2012 Best Car To Buy. During the initial release of Porsche 911 series motorists have been treated to the base Carrera and its lighter sportier Carrera S variant.
Due to constant demand from luxury vehicle consumers, Porsche is expanding the 991-series family with the all-wheel drive Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S variants, which start delivery early next year as 2013 models.
The latest models from Porsche will be fitted with Porsche’s latest rear-biased all-wheel drive system and Porsche Traction Management (PTM) nanny.
The Porschee 911 Carrera 4 is almost identical to the rear-wheel drive Carrera models, the only difference is the Carrera 4 tradition, the rear fenders extend further outwards, adding an additional 22 millimeters of width on either side.
The 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 lineup, motorists will benefits from the same lighter body, suspension and drive train as that found in the rear-wheel drive models. It has an overall weight savings of 143 pounds lighter compared to its predecessor. It will contribute towards the improvement in fuel economy.
The Carrera 4 features a 3.4-liter flat-six engine with 350 horsepower on tap and the choice of either a seven-speed manual or seven-speed “PDK” dual-clutch transmission. The PDK is the quicker of the two, helping to deliver a 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 177 mph.
Aside from the beauty and the power of the latest 911 Porsche models, they also introduced the optional Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) to the entire model range. This kind of feature controls distance to traffic ahead and vehicle speed. Together with PDK, the ACC System will add the safety function of Porsche Active Save (PAS), which helps to prevent front-end collisions by warning the drivers and priming the brakes.
The new 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 range will debut at the 2012 Paris Auto Show next this coming September.
