The Philippine Dragon Boat Federation Team will be joining the “World Championship” to be held in Tampa, Florida.
The team will be competing 5 events in different categories: 100-meters, 200-meters and 500-meters for the means division and another 200-meters and 500-meters for the mixed category in the small boat division.
The “Philippine Dragon Boat Team” was the two-time world defending champion to defend the title against the strongest participating teams from Germany, USA and China. But the “Philippine Dragon Boat Team” is determined enough to raise again the flag and give honor to the country from the World Championship tournament to start on August 4, 2011 in 100-meters event.
The team almost forfeited the contest due to the lack of funds but because of the support from fellow Filipino they became more eager to win the competition.
According to Amina Anodin one of the team members said, “The support given to the team is worth paying for the victory.”
From the airport going to United States, more supporters were coming to give their supports that inspire them and give more strength to all the members of the team.
The team leaves from Manila airport and stop over to Los Angeles before finally arrive in Florida.
