Nani defeats Valdes and scores for Manchester United

Manchester United have defeated the Champions League Champion Barcelona Football Club with a 2-1 advantage. The game was held at the Fedex in Washington as part of the Herbalife World Football Challenge. The pre-season friendly match showcased the best football teams from the European Champions League.

Nani whose full name is Luís Carlos Almeida da Cunha, a Portuguese winger and national player of Portugal had made the first goal of the game at around 22nd minutes of the game. Danny Welbleck’s  through ball from halfway gave the p(–foul word(s) removed–) to Nani who is sprinting towards the goal. He was able to beat the off-side trap and made a cool finish between the legs of goal keeper Victor Valdes.

Meanwhile Barcelona was able to put back with the effort of Thiago, he made a brilliant equalizer from 25 yards and swarved away from David de Gea and goes into the upper corner of the goal. The goal was made at 70th minute.

At around 76th minutes Manchester made another goal. Tom Cleverly intercepted from Pep Guardiola’s side in midfield and made a wonderful p(–foul word(s) removed–) to Michael Owen who made the right decision and outmaneuvered the goal keeper Valdes and take the lead and made the final score at 2-1 in favor of Manchester United.

Barcelona was playing during the Herbalife World Football Challenge  without the presence of  Lionel Messi, Xavi and Daniel Alves. The game was part of the pre-season preparation for both teams.

The FedEx Field in Washington have made also a record breaking attendance in a single game with spectators estimated numbers at 81,807 audiences.
