NBA Superstar Kobe Bryant arrived in Manila, Philippines yesterday at 5 P.M July 12, 2011 as part of his five-city Asian Tour brought about by world-cl(–foul word(s) removed–) sports apparel NIKE. Kobe had visited the Philippines twice also through the effort of Nike. Kobe arrived through his private plane.
According to the Marketing Manager of Nike Philippines, Kobe preferred to visit first the Philippines when he is on his Asian Tour because of the p(–foul word(s) removed–)ion of the Filipino for basketball, the Filipinos loved basketball so Kobe prioritized the Philippines on its list.
Kobe Bryant’s itinerary on his Manila visit includes a press conference at noon on today at Manila Peninsula Hotel. He will then visit the Gawad Kalinga village in Taguig at 1:30 P.M. Kobe will lead the dedication of a refurbished basketball court in Gawad Kalinga for the underprivileged kids.
At 3:00 P.M. Kobe will meet and greet the fans at The Port in Taguig City. After his meet and greet events with the fans. Kobe will then go to Araneta Coliseum for the main event of his Manila visit brought about by Nike.
Kobe will be at the Araneta Coliseum at around 5:00 P.M. for the an exhibition game with top collegiate players in the Philippines. Kobe will see action with the FEU Tamaraws, DLSU Green Archers, Ateneo Blue Eagles and the Smart Gilas Pilipinas.
The climax of his visit will be his basketball clinic to be attended by top Filipino collegiate players. The famous “Blackout Drill” training regimen that will be given to a selected Filipino players. Kobe’s last 2009 visit he had chosen Ateneo’s Nico Salva as the recipient of some drills part of the “Blackout Drill” training regimen.
The five-time NBA Champion was so glad during his interview that he even said that he loved to eat the famous “adobo” which he was so familiar with his Filipino friends way back in the United States. He also picked Manny over Floyd Mayweather for their upcoming bout. Manny was just one of his closed Filipino friend. The two had worked in one of Nike’s international commercial.
Kobe Bryant will then visit the city of Seoul and some other Chinese cities after his visit in Manila. Kobe was being eyed by a Turkish Basketball team.
